Accelerating Developer Adoption with Open-Source Client Libraries
When InfluxData, a fast-growing San Francisco–based startup, set out to make time series data accessible to everyone, their engineering teams were laser-focused on one goal: building and scaling the TICK Stack — the company’s flagship open-source platform for real-time analytics.
However, as product adoption grew, a new challenge emerged. The developer community and enterprise customers wanted to embed InfluxDB directly into their own solutions. The product management team recognized the need to serve these developers with high-quality, well-documented client libraries — but internal R&D resources were already at full capacity.
That’s when InfluxData partnered with Bonitoo.io.
From Java to 10 Languages — Building a Global Developer Ecosystem
Bonitoo.io began by designing and developing the official Java client for InfluxDB. The collaboration quickly expanded: our engineers delivered Node.js, Python, C#, Go, PHP, TypeScript, and even R client libraries — making InfluxDB accessible to developers in nearly every major programming ecosystem.
Beyond language support, Bonitoo.io also created integration and monitoring frameworks — such as Apache NiFi connectors — extending InfluxDB’s reach into industrial, IoT, and enterprise environments.
With each release, Bonitoo worked closely with InfluxData’s product team to ensure developer experience, documentation, and API consistency across all versions.
Continuous Partnership and Evolution
As InfluxData evolved, so did the partnership. Bonitoo.io has continued to play a key role in the InfluxDB 3.0 generation — maintaining, improving, and extending client libraries for InfluxDB 1.x and 2.x, while developing new SDKs for InfluxDB 3.x.
The collaboration has spanned years of innovation, community engagement, and open-source contribution — helping millions of developers worldwide connect, query, and visualize time series data more efficiently.
Results
Together, InfluxData and Bonitoo.io have built a thriving developer ecosystem, enabling faster adoption and deeper integration of InfluxDB across industries. The partnership continues to exemplify how shared engineering excellence and open collaboration can drive lasting technological impact.
